Child Painting — Day Care Centre in Kingscliff NSW
Our philosophy

We believe that all of the children attending our Kingscliff child care centre are individuals, each with unique goals, talents and capabilities. Our staff aims to deliver the highest standard of care and education to every child, while providing a healthy, stimulating and supportive environment that enables them to achieve their full potential. At Bossy Boots Early Learning Centre & Preschool, we've created a nurturing and caring environment, designed to enhance the learning and development of all children, from birth through to school age, supporting them in belonging, being and becoming.

Working in partnership with families

We understand the importance of families being children's first and foremost educators. Based on this understanding, we strive to support educational development at the centre and within the home by facilitating a collaboration between families and our early educators. We also believe in creating a warm and welcoming environment, where families and children will feel at home. To achieve this, our staff is focused on being approachable, flexible and receptive to the feedback of the children attending our centre, their families and any other parties involved at all times.

Relationships that are secure, respectful and reciprocal

At Bossy Boots Early Learning Centre & Preschool, we prioritise the importance of nurturing relationships. This involves providing all of the children attending our centre with consistent emotional support, to help them develop the skills and understanding they need to interact in a positive way with others. We also educate children on the value of teamwork and collaborating with others, by offering them opportunities to practice these skills during their interactions with their peers and educators.

Equity and expectations

We are committed to recognising and proactively responding to any learning barriers that children face in their educational progression. Our staff fully encourages and promotes any curriculum related decisions which focus on inclusion and participation for all children.

Understanding and respect for diversity

We respect diversity in our care environment and understand how this contributes to the richness of our society in Australia. Because of this, we are dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders' cultures, as well as understanding and promoting other cultures which exist in our community.
At Bossy Boots Early Learning Centre & Preschool we believe experiencing cultural diversity provides opportunities for children to learn about the similarities and differences present in other cultures, while focusing on living and learning harmoniously.

Importance of ongoing learning and reflection

Our early childhood educators and child care staff understand the importance of reflective practices in providing a higher standard of care and educational development for children at our centre. In a professional capacity, we aim to examine all of our experiences at the centre as opportunities for continual improvement and stimulus in the development of new ideas. To achieve this, we are focused on becoming co-learners with the children attending our centre, as well as their families.
We value the richness of local knowledge shared by all of the cultures which exist in our community, such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island elders. Our centre incorporates the Early Years Learning Framework, ‘My Time, Our Place', in conjunction with the National Quality Framework and all relevant regulations and laws which govern child care, as a guide for our early learning curriculum, centre policies and practices.
